I thought I'd spend my next few minutes saying something comical about my new eyeglasses. I kinda think of it as a stand-up routine, but without the stand up, or the comedy. Anyway, here we go...

Well, today was my annual eye exam. Every single year, my vision keeps getting worse and worse. If it got any worse than it is now, I could very easily be declared legally blind (no offense Count).

Wearing glasses since the age of 5, I pretty much know a good pair of glasses when I see them, but the new styles keep getting smaller and smaller, making my face look bigger and bigger. Today when I was looking at frames,I noticed even the nose bridge has gotten so narrow that my nose couldn't fit into them. Funnily enough the final pair I liked happens to be the exact same style as my current glasses, but that's okay.

Well, with each passing year, and each passing decrease in vision, that naturally calls for a stronger prescription with a higher expense each year. Thankfully I have insurance, but naturally we have to pay little extra fees for my strong prescription. In fact, my new prescription is so strong, if we paid the extra fees, my new lenses would've made my new pair a pair of legit glasses, but since we couldn't, my new lenses are made of thick plastic, making my new pair of eyeglasses really a pair of eyeplastics.

Speaking of thick lenses, my lenses are like over half a centimeter thick! That's how bad my vision is. Of course, this makes my glasses - excuse me, plastics - rather heavy for my face. In fact, when I take them off at night, they leave red spots on the sides of my nose where the nose-piece lays.

But of course, how could I survive without my glasses? Besides, specs are cool! I very rarely get called the usual "four eyes" and things like that. In fact, several people say I look scary without my glasses. That's why I won't wear contacts because I can't stand anything on my eyeballs, which is why I never leave my eyes open underwater.

Thank you, you've been a semi-delightful audience.

I wear glasses and I also hate to open my eyes under water, mainly because of the chlorine.
