I had a bit of a close shock tonight.

I'm currently cooking some evening dinner and as I was taking the tray out to check on how it was going and had set it down to turn the meat I noticed a tiny bright bit of orange at the edge of the tea-towel.

Quickly I doused it under the cold water sink tap before it went up in flames. Thanks be to Almighty God that I noticed it before setting it down on something. I could have been in a fire in my unit. The last thing I need while I'm making preparations to move back in and start afresh with Mum, Aunt and Nan after all our family quarrels.

Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen.

Yikes! Sounds frightening!

Yesterday, at work, we someone left a pan of butter on the heat and it turned completly black and smoked so much that the burningly loud fire-alarm errupted over the entire hotel! We had to grab the pan off and then run around telling everyone there was no fire. Poor dears.

I remember once, at college, somebody burned some popcorn in the microwave. Everywhere smelled like burnt popcorn for quite awhile.

I"m glad it got put out quickly marty!

Once we had a camp fire in our back yard and one of my friends sat too close and frizzled the hair on his legs and his eyebrows! Didn't make him move though! Some people are just silly when it comes to fire!

Thanks everybody.

And you're right Anna some people just don't have any sense when it comes to handling fire. Sometimes though we do have honest unfortunate accidents with it, like I almost did.
But from now on I've decided to use my oven mit to take trays out of the oven instead of tea-towels. Don't want to risk that happening again.

It's a good thing you got rid of that fast!

One time, while I was vacationing in New Orleans at a hotel, a car exploded in the garage. I don't know how, it just did. My brother was really scared, since my dad was asleep upstairs, while him, my mom, and me were outside in the pool. This was a few years ago, so I was little. It was scary.

Wow, that's scary! I remember several years ago at Thanksgiving, we were all standing in a semi-circle saying grace, and right when "amen" was said... *FOOM*, the inside of the oven burst into flames! My mom then grabbed the large round box of salt and sprinkled that salt all over the little blaze, and amazingly, the salt put out the fire! My mom told me to remember for whenever I'm on my own, and cooking something around the stove/oven and a little fire were to ignite.

I hope everything is okay Marty. I will say a prayer for you. I remember one back in 1997 when my kitchen barley burnt down. It was very scary. But the bright side was I got a new kitchen. But It's still not fun when your kitchen burns down. But god bless you Marty and I'm glad everything is okay.

My mom was cooking stir fry the other day the the wok caught on fire. She shouldn ope the door because it was locked and she dropped in on the floor and now we have to burned spots on the floor, but my dad got the door open in time.

But glad you're okay, Marty!
