Now this is something that doesn't really happen on Sesame Street, but I have seen it happen on other shows such as Happy Days, Family Matters, Step by Step etc. But wouldn't it be something if one of the long lost Sesame Street humans like Mike, Hiroshi, or Olivia came back to Sesame Street for an episode. And everyone celebrated their return to the show and hung up a Big Banner saying Welcome Back Olivia or something like that. In this episode it would explain where the charachter is living now and why they moved away from Sesame Street in the first place. I heard that back in the 70's (before I was born) Buffy came back to Sesame Street for an episode in 1979 or so, and came back to look for a shirt of Cody's that she left behind when she moved from Sesame Street. She then discovered that the shirt was too big for Cody, and the episode was about growing up and growing out of things, phases etc. But I think it would be really cool to see a Human return to the show again. Preferbly Olivia. Just for one episode to explain where they are living now.

I think that's a cool idea- It's something that would appeal mostly to us "old-timers," since most youngsters wouldn't know who Olivia was. But it's something that they should consider for the next "anniversary" show, when they want to go back into Sesame history. It might also give them the chance to replay some old clips.

It'd be nice closure too, like whatever happened to David?

He's dead.

Not really. Northern Calloway, who played David, is dead. But as far as the show's character of David is concerned, the last we heard, he's living on his grandmother's farm.

As long as we're on the subject of David, they shouldn't have said that he went to live on his grandmother's farm. Kids probably thought he'd be back.

Well, I heard that the episode where they talked about him going to live with his Grandmother was really made before he died. We tend to think that David's character was written out because of the actor's death, but Northern Calloway actually quit the show before he died.

James Earl Jones came back

Back in Season One, James Earl Jones was "that bald guy" who looked straight in the camera and recited the alphabet. It was very intense of him, staring at us, never blinking, and I imagine some of us might have been a little spooked by it.

He shaved his head, because at the time, he was making a movie called The Great White Hope, and could have been asked to appear since Will Lee (Mr. Hooper) used to be his acting teacher. (Small world, ain't it?)

About eight years later, (after his fame as the voice of Darth Vader in Star Wars) he shows up on the Street again, all dressed up in a trenchcoat and hat, with a big walking stick and diamond rings on every finger. David and Maria seemed totally awestruck.

"SAY, AREN'T YOU JAMES EARL JONES???????" Most kids probably still wouldn't know James Earl Jones from a hole in the wall, but there he is.

Anyway, he came by to sample one of Mr. Hooper's chocolate egg creams (a New York specialty of milk, chocolate syrup, seltzer, and in some places, RAW EGG!)

Hooper's delighted to see his old friend, whips up an egg cream, Jones takes one sip, and is reeling in happiness.
Really neat since outside the street they truly knew each other and had a long friendship together.
