How to value collectibles for insurance?

Hi!
I'm trying to figure out how to put a value on some of the unique stuff I got at Muppetfest for my house insurance. Obviously, the ins co wants written proof of some kind (it would be so much easier if they just took my word for it).
So, how would I find out what the replacement value of a Muppetfest ticket signed by Brian Henson is?

It's very hard to say - i think the best bet is to go to one of the big auction houses in London or the States that specialise in Memorabilia and Collectables and get them to officially value it. An insurance company would probably go for that.

Trouble is - i wouldn't have thought a serious memorabilia auctioneer would value it as high as you would think as Muppetfest was fairly recent and they tend to undervalue that kind of stuff for a good few years. It is gonna have a lot more value to you personally (and probably to other collectors on Ebay and things like that) at the moment but at least you would get something for it in the event of loss.
