Okay, I admit it. When I was little, I used to be scared of that crashing sound at the end of Honk Around the Clock. As I got older (and wiser) I've learned to tolerate it. But one thing still bothers me...the mystery of what exactly happened to the clock at the end. What causes the crash? Anyone here know?

Nope, not rully. Guess it'll remain one of those "Unsolved Mysteries." But an educated guess might lead you to accept that the Honkers just kept pushing the clock past the edge of the screen further and further until it crashed against the walls of the ballroom where the music number took place. Hope this helps and have a good night.

If you look closely, there was actually something wrong with the clock. The hands were NOT motorized. They were supposed to be, but if I remember correctly, I think they kept having trouble with it. You can tell because they're not always running at the same speed. Whoever was working them hesitated a little bit every now and then. And if you saw the numbers that lit up, some of the bulbs were burnt out, or dimmer than the others. I remember one bulb in the 11 was not as bright as the other bulbs. So the clock wasn't in very good condition to begin with. That's why it crashed at the end.

"Honk, Honk, Honk, Around the clock. We're gonna Honk,Honk,Honk, around the clock..."

That was a very cute song. Why did they stop featuring the Honkers? Seems they are seen less & less. Does anyone know when they first introduced the Dingers? Did the Dingers do any specific skits or songs? Just wondering.

It must have been an impromtu decission. Either that, or it was deliberate, as the Clock got really annoying in the song. I have got to see this again.. It's been years since I've seen it.

Anyway, If it was impromptu, I congratulate them. Truely, that was a great joke, and a funny moment..

It's pretty much inspired my love for writing about clocks, robots, computers, etc. going haywire!

My clock guess is that as the Honkers took the clock away when the baby honker did that little move before the crash, he bumped into the other Honkers causing them to drop the clock, then CRASH!

The Honker's are still seen every now and then. They did show "The Honker Duckie Dinger Jamboree" in a recent ep. I don't know when they first introduced the dingers. They might have came a little bit later than the Honkers. I'm just guessing though.
