There is an old Ernie and Bert skit where Ernie loses his rubber ducky and Oscar brings him a Grouch doll as a substitute. The doll looked ugly and made a grouchy sound when squeezed. It may have had a name, but I don't remember it.

I honestly don't recall if Bert was in that skit or not. If he was, I don't think it was a very big part. I remember the last scene fading out with just Ernie and Oscar comparing their two toys and discussing how what's cute to one person can be ugly to another.
