Help! Kermit candlestick phone not working!

Hi, I was wondering if anyone happened to have to Kermit Candlestick Phone user manual or could tell me how to work it? I have the phone chord plugged in and I don't know if it needs batteries or what but there is no dial tone. I got a dial tone a couple of times but it didn't last. Please help! It would be greatly appreciated.

I have that phone too! There's a glitch in the design and the cord from the earpiece comes loose inside. When I first got it way back when I contacted the manufaturer and was told to return it/exchance it, or have it repaired on my own. The manual won't help much, sorry!
