Hi everyone,

I am new to this board and I think just maybe I have found a group of people that may be able to help me. I was one of the original regular cast of kids in the early 70s. I was the little girl in Mr. hooper's store, the only person other than Big bird that saw the snuffy, I was on the Christmas special, the episode where Johnny Cash and Linda sing to us. And for some reason I can't get my hands on a copy of one of the many episodes I was on. I've written letters and emails and have gotten no response. The only thing I have to show for my time on the show are my check stubs and some pictures of the sets while taping. I do have some of the episode #s handy, if there is anyone who can help me get a copy of any of these shows I would be so happy as would my son. Episodes 517, 519,500, 503,478, 481,462,463,444, 445. I look foward to hearing from you. This seems like a really cool site.

Hi... Welcome to the craziness that surrounds us here at Muppet Central. Glad to have another original child actor/actress from Sesame Street as a board member. Since you have the specific episode numbers of the ones you're searching for, I'd recommend you contact the forum member known as Boober_Gorg, his SST video library is the greatest one of all of us here, and he has helped others in the past. Send him an Email message or PM (private message) explaining your situation.
Can't guarantee he'll have all the episodes you're trying to locate, but at least it's a start.

Hope this helps, have fun exploring the rest of the forums and have a good night.

You can also write to The Paley Center for Media (formerly The Museum of Television and Radio), they have a research section that answers questions for the general public. They also have a hand full of Sesame Street episodes available for viewing (but not lending) in their library.

Good luck with your search! Btw, did you ever get to actually meet the puppeteers or cast members on Sesame Street?

memories of classic sesame street

Actually, I did get to meet all the puppeteers. I remember working on every show with jim henson, and carol spinny. Two of the nicest people I ever met. As for other cast members, I was the little girl in mr hooper's store and the little girl who spotted snuffy while with big bird. So, maybe two or three scenes were with the rest of the cast together. The ones that stand out the most are bob, mr hooper and susan. I did do a christmas special where me and another girl were being pulled in a sled by bob while he sang to us, and I did get it meet johnny cash and his wife linda when they were on and sang to everyone. My brother was also a regular on the show and he was the boy with the count. I was also the the first to be offered the first with elmo and I said no way. Who knew. It was a lot fun and a lot of good memories.

Such wonderful memories. I hope you've recorded them in some type of fashion (your perspective of them) to share with your family for generations to come.

I'm guessing that sled scene was from the original "Very Special Sesame Street Christmas" special that aired on network TV in the early 1970s. Does that sound right? I don't have a copy, but some video traders do, so you may be able to get a copy of that. Let us know & maybe one of us can help you get it.

I do have a copy of "A Special Sesame Street Christmas," but that special was taped in 1978, so I'm not sure that would be it.

Frustrating thing is, there are a couple of episodes from the fourth and fifth seasons that are floating around in trading circles, but none of them are the ones you mentioned. (406, 514, 536, 573) Right era, but wrong episodes. Those are the only ones that have been let out of the deep dark vaults to see the light of day since they were first aired, as they were part of the small package released to the Noggin network in 1999. (Except for 573, which seems to have been "leaked" from the "inside")

I know what you mean. I know they exist. In the late 70s early 80s I would get residule checks for episodes I was in that were being shown in Europe. So, your right they are out there. The trick is how to get our hands on them. I have tried writing to the childrens television network directly but have never received a response. I will keep trying. I was thinking of trying to contact Caroll Spinney or one of the other cast members to see if they could help. I'll let everyone know if I have any success.
