Television New Zealand had an item about Kermit's 50th Anniversary on TV One's news. The item was reported by Wendy Petrie and included clips from the Juliet Prowse and Ethel Merman episodes of TMS, as well as some clips of Jim Henson, Sesame Street, old B/W footage of Kermit and Rowlf, the CBS Pitch Reel, Crazy Harry blowing up the Sex and Violence titles plus other clips (including footage of Jim). I presume that one of the US News Stations has put together a similar story using the same clips.

There was also a quote from Kermit (voiced by Steve Whitmire) who said something along the lines that with the 50 years he just tends to think back about all the stuff he's done. It also mentioned that Season One of TMS is due to be released on DVD.

The clips from the TMS episodes were Kermit announcing the guest star (Juliet Prowse), bits of the two chorus lines, a bit of the talkspot from the Prowse episode, the "This is what we call the Muppet Show" bit from Prowse episode, including Gonzo hitting the gong, Kermit introducing Ethel Merman.
