Maybe someone will read this thread and correct me as to the true origin date of SS not being November 10, 1969, but I just felt this should be shared. Congratulations on reaching your 33rd birthday, Sesame! True Season 33 already wrapped up and Season 34 is in production, but those are TV years and now you can frightfully claim your thirty-third birthday. Even more pleasant is the fact that in January 2003, when Season 34 takes to the airwaves, we'll surpass our longtime archrival for a prestigious title. No longer can Mr. Rogers hold that one-year lead over our heads! Rejoice for next season's premiere means that SS will be the longest running children's show in all of television history. After that, hopefully, it'll be just five more years before we can take away the title of longest running show ever from Dick Clark. But that's a goal for another day. Once again, happy 33rd birthday Sesame Street!
