All right...I'm not trying to rub it in for those that have ever been on cruises (or can't afford to.) And although I've raved about my cruises before, this one has been the best!
There's a group called Rocky & The Rollers that's the opening act for oldies groups. They were sponsoring this cruise. The first night we were there ,Rocky & The Rollers wanted a BIG group picture of everyone . Don't know how he managed it (& how it came out) but he did it.
So the next couple of days was trivia & stuff like that.
Now this ship was GIGANTIC! It had a miniature version of New York City's Central Park on the 8th floor. So on Wednesday morning (February 2) my mom decided that we (she, her friend & me) would eat breakfast at one of the places down there. Just as we were finishing,my mom looks over and says,"Look...there's Bowzer." I look & sure enough it's Mr. Bassman himself! So I go & talk to him for a couple of minutes. (Now before I continue,I need to explain something. When Bowzer was with Sha Na Na,he wrote, playedon the piano & sang a song called "Glasses" .This was in 1972 on an album called the The Night Is Still Young I hadn't heard it until about 25 years later when I was having wicked headaches. That one song put the headaches at peace.) So OK...back to last Wednesday. I go up to talk to Bowzer. He remembers me from all the concerts I've attended here. I get a hug & a "How are you?" from him. Then I tell him about what I just explained about "Glasses" calming my headaches. He hugs me again & tells me how sweet that is! Then he asks me where I'm sitting.I point to where my mom & her friend are. HE SAYS HE'LL COME SIT WITH US!:excited: He goes in to get his breakfast & I go to sit down (Good thing I am because by now my legs feel like jelly!LOL!) Bowzer sat & talked with us for over an hour! My God I was SO thrilled! (I'm pretty sure a lot of you don't know who Bowzer is. But let me put it to you this way. Think of a singer/celebrity who you still like even though he/she isn't popular anymore but you still go to their concerts. Picture yourself going up to them just to say hi & chat a bit. Then they say they'll sit w/you & your family to eat breakfast.THAT, my dear friends was what I was like!
So I saw Bowzer in concert w/his group The Stingrays about 3 times. (2 that I had reservations for & 1 that I was watching at the back of the theater)
There was a Question & Answer period for the singers.I asked Bowzer if he still kept in touch w/the guys from his old group Sha Na Na. He said he will be in concert w/2 of them this summer in Massachusetts. (I already asked my mother if I could go. The answer was no. RATS! ) I had a picture taken w/one of the Stingrays. He's a friend of a friend.(His name's Anthony)The picture came out really well!
Bowzer signed autographs & took pictures w/his fans too. While my mom was gambling w/her friend,I wrote Bowzer a note thanking him for being so sweet to me.So I gave Bowzer the note after he took a pic w/me.After that I told him to have a safe flight home. He said,"You're coming to the dance tonight, right?" Gee..I guess I would! So,that night was the final dance. So I danced w/ Anthony. (I asked him. Gutsy ain't I?LOL!) Anthony took a picture of us together. It came out really cute! After the dance when I was saying goodbye to Bowzer, he thanked me for the note, gave me a hug & kissed me on the top of the head. I said(sort of joking) "I'll never wash my hair again" So he kissed my cheek and said "I'll bet you'll never wash your cheek again either!" :flirt:Awwwwww!
If I had recorded this whole cruise on DVD, you could bet I'd be watching it over & over!

Wow, Kathy, that's awesome! Just the other day I realized I hadn't seen you around in a while; then I saw on facebook that you'd said you were on the cruise. Glad to see you back, and glad you had that great experience!

Thanks!
Oh yeah...a couple of references you guys might be interested in:
I brought a Trvivia Hangman book with me on the cruise to work on when I wasn't doing anything.4 of the clues were:
"C Is For Cookie"
"Bob McGrath"
"Follow That Bird"
&
"Twiddlebugs"
So what was the final answer?
Sesame Street of course!
And we went to a show one night & the seats were kind of up high. So my mom's boyfriend remarked,"We're like the old guys from The Muppet Show !" I got a laugh out of that.(except there were 3 of us instead of 2)

You'd love it. I'll be honest; there are some times when the seas are rocky & you tend to get seasick. But that only happened on one ship I was on.
