In the episode Mokey's Funeral, after Junior thinks that he killed Mokey, he sas that he can't give her a proper tombstone because he thought that Fraggles don't have names. However, in the secodn episode, Wembly and the Gorgs, during the trial for the Fraggles, Wembly refferred to the other Fraggles by name, and Junior was there, so he should have heard them (unless he just wasn't paying attention).

I think I have also read that in the episode The Gorg Who Would Be King, Junior learned that Fraggles have names. Before then, there was another episode where he should have caught onto the fact that Fraggles have names. In The Great Radish Caper, Mokey talks to Junior about friends being people who you might miss, and she mentioend missing Gobo, Red, Wembly, and Boober. She was talkign to him, and he should have noticed that she was naming her friends.

*laughs* Maybe he's just an idiot? Seriously though.

Perhaps because he's so young in age, he dosn't really grasp the concept of names just yet. With the except of his parents and himself, especially since he dosn't see them very often, like the Fraggles.

It also seems to work the other way too; sometimes the Fraggles seem to know his name's Junior, and other times he's simply "a Gorg" to them. :smirk:

Yes, "Wembley And the Gorgs", being the 2nd episode, has a few inconsistencies.
In addition, I think it's human nature that if you have a set way of looking at something, you don't always pay attention when someone refutes it. So even if Junior hears the fraggles talking about names, he probably wouldn't take it seriously.

It seems like the Gorgs don't have names. I would be surprised if Ma and Pa were their real names. Junior could be a real name, though.

A similar thing that I've thought of... I have read somewhere that Sprocket first leanred Gobo's name in Sprocket's Big Adventure (I haven't seen this episode, so I'm not sure if I read correctly). However, he should have known Gobo's name. Doc constantly complains to Sprocket about getting letters for Gobo Fraggle, and it would be odd for Sprocket to forget the name (he seems to remember Ned Shimmelfinny's name, so it's not like he forgets names). And in the second (or is it third?) season episode A Friend in Need, Gobo tells Sprocket that the postcards are the reason why he always tries to sneak into his place, and when he reads a post card, after reading the "Dear Gobo..." part, he stops and says, "That's me". So did Sprocket forget Gobo's name or something? Or did he never pay attention to Doc saying who the post cards are for?
