Good News Everyone!

Clearly the best, and frankly only good Toon news I've heard in some time. I hope coming after its initial cancellation, the episodes can be produced with the same quality they always have been. Unlike a certain other show that had a very bad influence of Adult Swim ruining its recent years.

I really hope Fox gives it another chance, at least for the budget. And they put it in at a good time slot, unlike the initial run. Seems budget was the major stumbling block as far as the series goes... Family Guy has a very low budget, and very limited animation... the CGI graphics alone in Futurama probably cost more per episode. I'd hate them to truncate the animation... especially if they were to truncate it into Flash... yuck. Though I doubt that would happen.

This should probably be noted that its only good news for people who haven't seen the straight-to-dvd futurama movies, because of so much happening in them and so many series-changing events I think the episodes will only be based on those and since I have seen them all then this means nothing to me.:stick_out_tongue:

Yeah, I heard about that. While I'm a huge Futurama fan, I found the movies weird and disappointing, so I don't know what to expect :/

I only saw the first one so far... and i'm debating whether or not to get this, as I only have the first season and the first movie... and I was wondering if it would be cheaper to just get this collection, or buy them separately.

I like how they're more strategic with this show's return. Family Guy, much as I like it, seemed to degenerate into a lazy lump of adult swim mediocrity... reusing the same jokes over and over for example... I really hope we have the same level of quality in the series as it left the airwaves, and not like we're watching a totally different, inferior show.

The things is is that while FOX did pick up the series again, there's a possibility that it may necessarily not air on a FOX, but on a FOX network.

The TV series is excellent, and I think the first movie is probably the best of the bunch. So I think it'd be a pretty good investment

Yeah I don't really like Family Guy anymore and I was like "***?" after watching the stewie kills lois/lois kills stewie episode, Seth Mcfarlane must be a really sick man, don't watch his cartoon comedy cavalcade! I also hate cartoons that are really violent and gorey, its just not funny! So many adult-rated cartoons are really immature etc so we're better off watching anything by Matt Groening although I find the Simpsons is beginning to run out of exciting, new ideas for episodes, Bart's had about a dozen Girlfriends by now and it gets somewhat tiresome, as well as the old "Lisa finds a friend" plot which seems a bit repetetive since the Simpson Movie, what ever happened to Colin anyway? My dad can sometimes get the new episodes via PC. But Futurama is great too although of course its not quite and never will be as popular as The Simpsons, There should be a good futurama movie for the big screen too plus since I think both shows are losing it a little I think it should open the door to a futurama/simpsons crossover, they've only had little connection to each other in the past so I think it would be great to have a big crossover and not just a tedious reference.

I had a bad experiance with the Powerpuff Girls complete series... side one of one of the disks didn't work right, and I didn't want to have to return the entire thing for one side of a disk... cuz then another disk wouldn't work.

It's not even that. in fact, I think the gorey fight scenes are the only thing that makes the show work. Every episode should b titled "Stewie does something stupid and says unfunny stuff with an unfunny accent." The show has been getting better with episodes like Road to Germany, but then it flops back and does a poorly plotted episode with a bunch of poorly set up cut scenes. The cut scenes were novel when the show came on, and they weren't so poorly set up and numerous. And they were actually short and snappy. Now they're longer than the scenes they interrupt. Plus, just kill off Meg already. The family being extremely mean to her lost it's charm 2 seasons ago.
