From The Balcony...muppet makery help

I have been loitering here for a few days and havent gathered adequate information for my project, so I thought I'd register and ask you puppet geniuses directly.
I have a small but fun little home theatre and I make props. I'm not crazy about having a bunch of movie cells and whatever other over-priced "official" merch, I'd rather have interesting and fun things, and recently had the idea to build a small theatre box inhabited my two favorite hecklers to watch over my penchant for bad movies.



I did several searches and haven't found many good reference photos or at least not enough information to feel comfortable in proceeding. I'm going to continue to look around here, as I'm sure there is some hidden gold, but I thought I'd post anyway to see if you guys have some dark secret measurements or the like, any tips on building these guys. Maybe there's some other muppetsentric forum I havent found?

Welcome to the boards

However... i do have some bad news to share with you. Alot of the people who build puppets won't tell you how any character in the Muppet universe is made. Alot of them are against reproducing, as these characters are copyrighted.

Stinks... but most will tell you the trial and error speech that you should try on your own.

Have you done any puppet building before?

Well, I have certainly seen someone recreate the Balcony itself before, on these boards, I am sure of it. I cannot remember where though. Have you tried a good thorough MC search?

I have done some puppet building before, with some success, but they have mostly been monster types and no "people" characters. I have seen lots of repros on this site, but it doesnt suprise me when you ask directly the consensus is OMGCOPYRIGHT. This won't be for any sort of profit, just me.

I mostly need clear front/profile images and some general proportion ratios (how big the heads are in actuality) and maybe some info on how to make snazzy muppet suits.

Nice find. I've seen those a long time ago. But they should help with all angles.

I'd like to see some of your work, Kale. Maybe post some pictures.

And yes, even i have made replicas... but when you're dealing with handing out patterns... people can get grouchy... which stinks.

I think that balcony was only a palisades scale one.
