My sister recently found Follow That Bird on DVD and bought it for me, and all kinds of memories came rushing back. This is a movie I loooved as a little kid, and even now, it is as fresh and funny and exciting as ever before. This film is timeless, and was produced right in what I consider the "golden age" of Sesame Street... before Elmo and Zoe, and back when Bob and Linda and Maria and the human adults were still pretty major characters.
So what are some of your favorite parts? Mine include...
-The Grouch restaurant.
-Seeing the Count's living room.
-Cookie Monster eating the car.
-Laraine Newman as Mommy Dodo.
-Sally Kellerman as Miss Finch.
-Miss Finch in general (so creepy!).
-Chevy Chase as the newsman ("Ses-same Street", lol).
-Ocean View, Illinois.
-"One Little Star".
-Big Bird and Gordon's conversation when Gordon is trying to save BB from the Sleaze brothers: "You should never jump from a moving vehicle! I shouldn't even be standing up!" "You have my permission, just this once!"
-And so, so, so many others that fail to come to mind right now.
