Hey Muppet fans,

Neil "Fraggle Icon Guy" Widener here. You may remember the original Fraggle Icons I created way back in my early years. Well, I'm all grown up now and am quite busy directing feature films (actually, just one so far, but I'm sure there will be more. The movie's a really exciting ride that the whole family can enjoy. Check out the trailer and synopsis! Thanks, Neil Widener

"Subdivision, Colorado" -- An adventure of neighborhood proportions!
Four friends embark on an amazing adventure through the Rocky Mountains after finding a magical arrowhead while fishing in their neighborhood. Their strength, resolve and friendship will be tested as they journey from the safety of their subdivision to the far reaches of the unexplored Colorado wilderness.

"Subdivision, Colorado" is a feature-length adventure-comedy written and directed by Neil Widener. It stars up-and-coming young actors and features amazing animation and visual effects by Kevin Wisdom ("Film on the Rocks"). It was shot entirely on location in Colorado, covering every type of terrain from the suburbs to the collegiate peaks. It's a hilarious and thrilling film that everyone can enjoy!

An exciting preview trailer and a link to a news article on 16:9's online publication can be found at the film's official website:

Congratulations Neil! The film looks really good - hopefully it will get a wide release. If you haven't already submitted it to the Toronto Film Festival this year (and if it's intended for young audiences) you might want to consider Sprockets, which is the TIFF's festival for films for young audience.

Just curious...what format did you shoot the film on? The pics on the website (I am not sure if they are stills or directly from a print) look really good.

Congratulations again & keep us posted on where/when we can see it!

Wow! I saw that screening!

:zany:
Hey Hey,
I don't remember "Fraggle Icon Guy", maybe after my time? But anywho, hey that's cool that you are working on films now, or are you? I saw the subdivision colorado sometime about 1/2 year ago or so- sorry bad memory somtimes. It was kinda neat. I mean it's a great attempt for a first film, although i don't know if you were aiming at kids or not (mine don't like that kinda stuff) but i liked the "challenged" kid stock exchange- It's cool to see diversity in a film from first timers, usually it's just blood and guts. Although my friend would like to know why you didn't have any black people in the neighborhood?
But then the CGI was pretty good, It looks low budget but i guess that's the feel of the thing. I hope this serves as a great diving board for future projects, are you still showing the thing or are you working on another one?
Best of luck hope you learn alot from this on and can really improve on it to make something more worthwhile. hope the next one is better, really improve on it to make something more worthwhile

Thanks for sharing your talent,
Meetthefeelbes

p.s. don't let people around boulder and the springs get you down, they don't know what they are talking about, i see some cool stuff in your thing
