Have a great time. I was at WDW new year's eve during the 25th anniversary celebration in 1997. The parking lot at The Magic Kingdom was full before 10:00am so we wound up parking at Epcot. (This was a spur of the moment trip or I would have stayed on property. One of those, "Let's go to Disney. Sure, when? Now? Okay" trips.) We even walked "back stage" because thats how they were directing crowd control. Big group.
We watched the best fireworks ever (360 degrees of fireworks) at midnight. Got to see the Lawrence brothers too (Whoa!). We have the tradition of sitting at the cafe tables in the alley on Main Street while the crowd thins out. We sat until 2:30am and finally jumped into the crowd (that didn't seem any smaller in the two hours) Another hour and a half to get to the ticket and transportation center and another hour to the car at Epcot. All in all, it was almost daylight by the time we got back to the hotel.
I've not been to New Year's Eve since, but I wish you a good one. We've made 13 trips in as many years and during that time, I feel, that the quality of the product has declined. (I still love it, don't get me wrong, but it use to be better.) I hope they do the fireworks like they did in 1997. Like I said, best I've ever seen (and we have Thunder Over Louisville (Derby Week)). Have fun and tell us how great it was.
