Here's an unsettling thought... Somewhere, right now, someone is getting paid scads of money rifelling through stock photos of Morbidly obese (400 Lbs+) women and thinking up sick jokes implying said fat women will "party" with the card's recipient for torture. All for a gag greeting card.

Example #1: A huge women, riding a bike, humming.... caption inside: "For your Birthday, I've decided to get you one of those Giant Hummers you were talking about!"

Example #2: 2 Huge Women at a golf course... Caption inside: "For your birthday, I've decided to get you a couple of Big Berthas!" (pretty much the same joke.

Example #3: 4 Huge Women sitting down on a bench.... caption inside: "These girls want to party with you on your Birthday!" (reissued for no apparent reason for Halloween, Birthday party is replaced with Haloween party.)

Now, a jokes a joke, these are mildly amusing at best... but I find it just more disturbing than funny,,, not of course for making fun of fat people (and I'm in horrid shape myself) but the fact someone gets a living making crap like that. And that people buy them.

Yeah I never like those, it's so hard to find decent birthday cards!

Yeah, that's not only disturbing, that's just plain cold; just like those people who come up with those dumb blonde jokes.

Well, a lot the photos are clearly decades old. Obese people used to be an unusual sight.

They don't GET women to pose for them. They are all stock photographs. Maybe some 1950's gag photos or something.

Now I can remember back in the 90's they had really large women dressed up as slutty thin models... but those ones were new.

But then again, I never found a market for those "Fat Women Mermaids" or "Fat women at the Beach" candles they sell at Beach communities.

Yeah, that's not only disturbing, that's just plain cold; just like those people who come up with those dumb blonde jokes.
Considering the fat women musta had fun posing (they're smiling after all) back in the 50's as some gag, relating the cards to implying tourcherous forced sex on the part of the card's recipient, it's even more disturbing than the standard "Being mean" joke.

That is not to say these women should be criticized or treated like dirt for their heaviness... juts that's the context of the card...

"Happy Birthday, these large women want sex" is basically the message of the card. I know there are more tasteful "Sex" related gag cards, like when the front has an opening that peeps into the inside of the card, making it look like a shape of a naked body, but opening it up and finding something quite different, even g-rated.

But seriously... someone has a job of sorting through all these old photos... that's the SCARIEST part.

BTW... if I offended anyone by mentioning sex, I appologized. I meant it int the context of what the cards imply.

I agree, the cards are not very nice. The implication is that it's funny or horrible if overweight people are attracted to you. Very immature!
