Hi, I was wondering how other people display their muppet figures or other muppet collectables. I think it would be a good idea to set up a website where people send in photos of their muppet collections and how they display them!

How does everyone display their Muppet treasures?

 :sympathy:  :concern:

Currently Im getting ready to build a large Muppet stage themed shelving unit. It will have four levels, painted in that typical Muppet show red, and Ill probably add like theater curtains and stuff around the back, etc...

Yes, BDW... Please elaborate on your Muppet Stage display setting under current construction. Will it be big enough to house all 14 series? With playsets and Mega figures (at least 2) and Mini Muppet PVC figures? Oh, and don't forget to leave some space for those series to come after S14 and the probable addition of Sesame figures should Palisades acquire the license in the mean time.

But this is just wishful hoping. As for me, I've currently got everything on one single shelf. The Muppet Labs playset is to the back left and the Electric Mayhem Bandstage playset is to the back right of the shelf. In between both playsets, I've got: Miss Piggy exclusive figure after switching both figures' heads, Crash Helmet Gonzo, S3 Test Shot Lew Zealand, and Tux Rowlf with both the cannon and baby grand piano and extra vanity dresser with the feather boa behind all of them. In front of the bandstage I've got: Dr. Teeth and his keyboard, Floyd Pepper with his base guitar to the right, Animal with his drumsticks and speakers in front and what would be seen as centralized, and Zoot with his saxophone and equippment behind to the right all to the far right of the shelf just next to Tux Rowlf. To the far left in front of the Labs there's: Miss Piggy with her vanity dresser and Kermit's camera to her left, Fozzie Bear with all his gear, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew with his lab notebook, Beaker behind Bunsen, Scooter in front of Miss Piggy, Lew Zealand in front of Fozzie, Crazy Harry in front of Lew, and Kermit The Frog to the right. Lew's fish bucket is tucked in between him and scooter, whereas Crazy Harry's gun powder barrel is to his right with the gorilla detector placed above, and the Steel Rabbit is tucked into the remaining far left corner in front of Kermit's camera. Sort of crowded for the moment and makes for an odd assortment, but hope you guys like it.

I had everything on one shelf too. I had the 3 sets in the back and the figures in the front interacting. Then I moved my TV's rabbit ears and Scooter dove off the shelf and broke his glasses off. I have an extra in the package, but Scooter from these boards has yet to contact me about trading my series 3 set for an opened WWE Dr. Teeth so I can complete my variant band. I even passed up a WWE Dr. Teeth for only 70 bucks MOC. Oh well.

It definately wont be big enough for 14 series of figures and playsets, but it should be big enough for just all of the figures, I'd just have to build a new display sometime down the road for all of the playsets. Its more of just a thing to get by for the next couple of years. Once it is filled up, Ill dismantle it and rebuild, or find something else to use.

Basically it will be four levels, the biggest one one the bottom is about 4' long, and about 1' deep, the next is as long, but about 10" deep, then the other two are about half as long, and ten inches deep (the shelf will "wrap" around an architectural element in my room, its basically a window, but theres no glass, and it doesnt go to the outside, its just part of an element to divide my main bedroom and collecting room).

I want to find some fake flooring to simulate a hardwood floor, like you'd find on a stage. The supports are made from plastic columns (kind of Corinthian styled), and the shelves themselves will be a deep red. Ill probably drape some curtain material along the back to simulate theater curtains, and will probably put some sort of Muppet logos/art on the backing. I also want to trim the front edges of the shelves with some kind of ornate trim, that would match the style of the shelves.

The whole project is on delay right now, Im not good at woodworking, so Im waiting until I can work with someone else who can help me cut everything to size. Im also getting ready to begin remodeling my Star Wars collection rooms, so it may be put off even longer......

Ive now got some good ideas on displaying muppet items. Dont fear though, im not copying anyone elses ideas your ideas just inspired some great thoughts. I am thinking about building in some special lighting into my muppet display.

I still think it would be a great idea to have a website showcasing peoples muppet collections, just photos. and how they display them. It would be great to see photos of all of the different collections.

We'd be glad to host some photos of people's collections on our website.

Thanks, thats an idea I'd like to do soon. When I said collections though, I was referring to collections of all muppet and muppet related items not just the palisades items but these should be kept seperate from other muppet items anyway! They are too good!

Ken, got a rully multi-tasking question for you. Since you already have full knowledge of the S7 lineup (No, I'm not asking you to reveal that order fright
now) and the sculpts of all the other figures from S1 to S6, and since you have better vision than I do, I wanted to ask you this with regards to a full-on
Muppets display. My room boasts a double-shelfing unit with shelves positioned at an average of 12 inches apart vertically from one another, and are all
a total of 12 inches deep and 23 inches long. Just want to get your opinions as to which of these would make more sense in terms of display groupings or
which would be better accomodated in my shelving unit given the heights and bulks of the figures, though I know that ultimate display ideas are entirely
up to me.

Start off with four shelves placed directly in front of you with the measurements given above.

Set up A
Shelf 1, in the lower righthand corner facing your front.
This shelf would be left completely bare.

Shelf 2, in the lower lefthand corner facing your front.
The Electric Mayhem in the center
Dr. Teeth, to the extreme left.
Floyd Pepper, centralized to the right behind of Dr. Teeth.
Animal, in front center.
Zoot, to the right positioned behind Animal and next to Floyd.
Janice, to the extreme right on the other side of Animal.
Clifford, with all his directorial gear seated in back center sort of behind Animal's position.
So they sort of end up looking like a pyramid grouping, though they should look more circular in their group display.
Behind them all...
Money Man, just think of a second Statler figure to the extreme left facing your front.
Statler, the first figure of him, placed to the right.
Waldorf, placed to the right sort of next to Clifford but behind him.
Astoria, a third Statler figure to the right of Waldorf.
Next to Dr. Teeth, around the space created by the Electric Mayhem...
Dr. Julius Strangepork, to Dr. Teeth's left.
MAMMA, placed in front of Dr. Julius but a little to the left.
The Merdlidops with their Koozbanian base from Reporter Kermit to the left of Dr. Julius Strangepork.
Dirth Nader, just think of the Crash Helmet Gonzo figure from S2 positioned either on or just behind the Koozbanian base.
The Swedish Chef, positioned at a sort of diagonal angle in front or away from Dr. Teeth.
The Lobster Bandidos in front of the Swedish Chef.
Tux Rowlf with the piano and Bust of Beethoven, in a sort of diagonal position either in front of or away from Janice.
Mr. Samuel Arrow, positioned to the right of Zoot.
The Koozbanian Phoob, just think of the Reporter Kermit figure positioned to the right of Mr. Samuel Arrow with all the Koozbanians in a sort of family
grouping to the right of the Phoob or Kermit.
The Koozbanains, Male next or in front of Kermit; the Female to his right; and the Baby in front of its parents.

Shelf 3, in the upper lefthand corner facing your front.
The Jim Henson Muppet figure in the direct center of the shelf.
Beauregard in front of the Jim Henson figure.
*Flanking the Jim Henson Muppet on his left, from left to right.
Kermit The Frog
Miss Piggy
Fozzie Bear
Scooter
Pepe, in front of Scooter
Gonzo the Great, next to Scooter
Camilla the Chicken, in front of Gonzo.
*Flanking the Jim Henson Muppet on his right, from right to left.
The Newsman
Lew Zealand
Crazy Harry
Beaker
Rizzo the Rat, in front of Beaker
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew
The Steel Rabbit, in front of Dr. Bunsen Honeydew.

Shelf 4, in the upper righthand corner facing your front.
Fozzie's and Kermit's Dad, positioned in the center back on the left.
Mrs. Emily Bear, Fozzie's Mom, positioned in the center back to the right.
Robot Kermit, positioned in between Fozzie's parents but a little bit forward.
New Yorker Animal, in front of Fozzie's and Kermit's Dad.
Skeeter, in front of Fozzie's Mom.
On the lefthanded side of the shelf, either positioned so as they look forward or in profile.
*First Column:
Super Link Hogthrob
Super Fozzie
Super Scooter
Super Gonzo
*Second Column:
WonderPig
Super Lew Zealand
Super Rizzo
On the righthand side of the shelf, either positioned so as they look forward or in profile.
*First Column:
The Swedish Pig
Fozzie Pig
The Newspig
Kermit The Pig*Second Column, not sure of which order depending on the heights and bulks of the figures:
S3 Test Shot Lew Zealand
Glazie Hamhocks, a personally created figure, just think of the EB Long-Hair Miss Piggy figure but with the head from the S1 regular Miss Piggy figure.
Dermit The Frog, just think of a regular S1 Kermit figure.

Set Up B
Shelf 4 retains all the custom figures listed above.
Shelf 3 retains all the figures listed above minus the figures to be listed in Shelf 1 of Set Up B.
Shelf 2 retains all the figures listed above.
Shelf 1 contains the following figures.
The Jim Henson Muppet figure in the center.
*In an arc grouping in front of the Jim Henson Muppet figure, from left to right.
Crazy Harry
Lew Zealand
The Newsman
Beauregard.
Maybe Mr. Samuel Arrow could also be added to this grouping, along with the figures from S7.

So Ken, what do you think and what are your observations as to either of these arrangements? Would they work? Would they need to be somewhat modified? Thanks
for your input and have a good day.
