a couple of times in the 80s Chicago's PBS station WTTW Ch 11 a couple of times would use of SS skits about the no. 11 to advertise itself. 1 such skit was that cartoon with that silly woman singing it's a lovely 11 morning. i can't exactly rememeber what the annoucer said but they would only show the ending of the cartoon where she's sing 11's the number for me and fall into the mud. boy do i wish i could rememeber what was said. did your PBS station do the same thing. show a SS number skit and used it to advertise itself?

Coincidently, one of the PBS stations I get here is NHPTV out of New Hampshire, and it is also channel 11. They did air some collages of all different shows on PBS, and one of them was a shot of the clock in the "Pinball" animation pointing to the number 11. WGBH Channel 2 in Boston never did anything like that.

thought i'd revive this for anyone who hasn't seen it the first time. Another such time was when WTTW-11 used and SS segment was when this big 11 appeared on SS and I can't remember the whole thing but Telly says so eleveny.

My PBS station didn't use numbers, but when talking about pledges (or advertising their phone number) they used the skit where the Martians meet a telephone. I still got that ad.

My PBS stations (KETS-2 in Little Rock, WXEL-29 in South Florida, and WCET-48 in Cincinnati) didn't use number sketches as promos, but KETS-2 aired the Grover "What is Love?" sketch" whole as a promo (with music added and a title card before and after identifying the station).

Yeah. If the channel is a number above 20, it's pretty unlikely that you'd see that.

Actually, this doesn't have anything to do with the channel number, but WSBE-36 in Providence, RI used to use the song "Born to Add", and they'd mix it with a whole bunch of other shows from PBS, and some other SS sketches, but the song played throughout the montage. And believe it or not, they used this collage as late as 2001, and the song hadn't been shown on SS since 1994!
