Well, there's also been times where Red Guy didn't necessarily want to rub them out, but rather, just victimize them in a scam or scheme, like the time he enlists Cow in a beauty pagent because he knew she'd win, so he could still the boquat of roses and tirara because he always wanted them but never could have them because he was never beautiful.
