Hey everyone, I was thinking if Northen Calloway was still alive and David was still on SS, how would he react to the newer characters? Baby Bear, Rosita, and Zoe?

Hmmm. Interesting question. I remember that Elmo was there when he ran the store. He'd probably react the same way with the newer characters. Just my thoughts.

Elmo actually named his Doll after David, that David had given to him as a present and he still had it after David left the show. Isn't that something? Mr. Hooper had given Radar to Big Bird and David gave Elmo a Doll too. And they both died shortly after.

Yes, David usually got along with everyone.

BTW, the June 1989 issue of Sesame Street had "interviews" with different characters' reactions to the birth of Luis and Maria's baby. A photo of David says, "I LOVE babies. I already told Maria and Luis that I'll baby-sit." Of course, David never would baby-sit. The episode when the baby was born was his last appearance on Sesame Street. And as you know, the actor who played David, Northern Calloway, died shortly afterwards which makes that statement unexepectedly sad.

Wow that is sad. David also died shortly after Snuffy's sister Alice joined the show.

Yes, Alice is "interviewed" about the baby in that issue as well and she says, "I'm so excited! Now I'll have someone new to play with." Curiously, out of the four characters who were "interviewed" about Maria's baby, David was the only human. Perhaps they were trying to emphasize that David was okay with Luis and Maria being together.
