Cut fabric before or after dyeing?

When is the best time to cut fabric? Do you do it before or after dyeing it?

I cut it with a pretty generous amount of a bleed, so that if it shrinks, I still have enough to work with. This might not be the smartest thing to do, but it's what I do, and I like to think it keeps me from dyeing too much extra fabric each time.
