For the past two summers, my son Max has attended a sleepaway camp called Buck's Rock. The person that was the puppetry counselor last summer dropped out and now they are trying to find someone. Below is the information. In addition to teaching the kids basic puppetry, they also put on two shows directed by the counselor. In the past, the first show was a puppet improv/sketches and the second session show is a full-on production (last year they did a version of Peter Pan and the year before was Harry Potter). You do not have to live near Connecticut or even the United States. About 40 percent of the staff are international and come from the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Mexico and throughout Europe.

Buck’s Rock Performing and Creative Arts Camp in New Milford, CT, is a unique sleep-away camp where campers have the freedom to choose their activities in a supportive, non-competitive environment. Campers work with qualified, professional artists and instructors who nurture and support their skills and interests in professionally equipped studios.
Applicants should be 21 years or older (although we would consider 20 year olds), have strong communication skills, teaching experience, and sensitivity to the needs of young artists and adolescents. June 21, 2018 to August 20, 2018. Salary negotiable based on experience.
