I just posted some neat scans of puppet designs by Hansjürgen Fettig from his amazing book Glove And Rod Puppets: A Handbook of Design and Technique:

I think we've discussed Fettig's books on the forum before (his other good one is "Hand and Rod Puppets' from the mid-1970s) and he has done an amazing job of preserving and documenting some really sophisticated techniques for making rod puppets. I highly recommend his books. Unfortunately they are all out of print, but many libraries can help you find a copy.

Obviously most of Fettig's books can't be published online because of copyright (here in Canada 10% can be reproduced, but that's it) I would love to get the entire book scanned since there are no plans to ever republish it in English. I've been slowly trying to track down whoever owns the copyright to get permission. It's a little tricky because Fettig himself is apparently reclusive and only speaks German.

I have two books by him,
they are amazing, we bit dry when it comes to reading , but some very nice diagrams, and images of his concept sketches, they are hard to come by i was lucky enough to be gifted on and bought the other thru a special offer years ago
