Hi everybodddddeeeeeeee! Just hoping that the vonderful scribe we know as the instituter of the UshyGushy club and writer of such great epics as Kermie's Girl, Catherine better known to all here as Ruahnna is OK today. Worried that she hasn't been here all day after learning about what happened at Va Tech. Ru, if you're out there, just know we're here for you an send you big hugs.

Hope everything's OK and rully hope to talk to Ru soon.

Well... Not sure if she is a teacher at Virginia Tech, but she lives in Virginia and I'm just naturally worried.

Snowths, there was another school shooting incident today at the university of Virginia Tech. Two separate shootings as reported on various news channels: one at 7 AM today where two people were killed, and another shooting later in the day after the first and before 12 PM where another thirty people were killed including the shooter himself and thirty more injured. They say that there was an evacuation order for everybody who was still on campus around noontime, I just hope Catherine's OK.

Holey crap, that's a lot of people! Two shootings in one day? If they're not connected, that's the scariest coincidence I've ever heard of! I'm pretty sure she teaches; but I'm not 100 percent sure.

Omigosh, folks! I had no idea this thread was up! I am sorry not to have seen it and to have worried you. I live several hours away from the campus, but know many people with children who attend the school. (My high school boyfriend, long-married to someone else, went there!)

Yes, the tragedy at VA Tech was quite a terrible one. So senseless, and so random. It has upset the students and their families terribly, and it has made many all over our state and nation mourn.

One young man who was a student there came home to Virginia Beach (I live in the next town over, Norfolk) and was killed in a traffic accident while home. Such a sad surprise. And many students and parents and adults will struggle to wrap a meaning around what happened even though these things rarely have any meaning to discern.

Thank you for your kind concern. Please lift up the families of these students in your thoughts in my stead!
