if you have little expierience in carving a head it may be helpful to sculpt a Maquete of your puppetr design in clay, dosnt have to be very big, just enough to help u figure out what the final product will be.

also u may end up doing one or two before you get the one you want if its your first time out,

personally i love sculpted heads , you can get a lot more interesting details in a carved head .

you basic two peice pattern can do only so much(not that you cant add to it as you are building,

as for Piggy she was hand carved like all the other pigs at one time(i prefer that one to the Foam Latex head) but all the other pigs like link, Dr Strange pork, and various insundry back ground pigs are hand carved from Soft Foam(it is a different kind of foam than the stuff you by at the fabric stores, i believe it is special ordered )

its very very flexible, and incredibly soft , it squishes and strecthes really
