carving a puppet from a block of foam

Hey, I am a puppet builder and I want to try a new design carving a puppet head from a block of foam does anyone have any tips or know where I can get a pattern?

You don't really need a pattern. First draw a sketch of your character. First from the front then a side profile, both with the mouth open. Take the shape of the head put the front shape on one side of your block with a sharpie. Then do the same with the profile on another side. Carve out both shapes...if that makes any sense. Then after you do that round out the shape with a pair of scissors. I will probably post a tutorial some time soon. I will probably be posting a tutorial soon.
