Carroll Spinney and Big Bird

I don't watch SS too much anymore, although I do like to sometimes catch it on weekdays when I'm up early enough.

My question: How many episodes does Carroll Spinney perform in during a season? While in Utah, I was watching an episode of SS, and it was obvious to me that Big Bird was not Carroll ... not just in JTE, but throughout the episode.

I do realize that he has been Big Bird for over thirty years and it must be tiring ... do the two performers tarde off on episodes a lot now?

I was watching SS with my daughter...and the voice certainly didn't sound the same.

Matt Vogel also performes Big Bird, But just usally in Journey to Ernie.

Carroll Spinney has an understudy. His name is Matt Vogel and he primarily does Big Bird during JTE. SOMETIMES also during the street scenes as well.

He does a good job.

The first time I saw JTE, a deeper voice for Big Bird was very distracting. But now, these days, I'm getting used to him. It's taking a while, but I'll get there

He does do a very good job, though; I agree.
