Announcer: And here's our host, the man of all "Beat the Time" shows, Guy Smiley!!
(audience cheers louder as Guy Smiley enters the studio with a little struggle. The theme stops playing.)
Guy Smiley: Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is Guy Smiley, the man who hosts "Beat the Time", everybody's #1 hit stunt-show! And now, before we begin, let's meet our today's contestant, the Amazing Mumford of Sesame Street! Come on out, Mumford!
(audience cheers as the Amazing Mumford enters the studio.)
The Amazing Mumford: Greetings! I am the Amazing Mumford, the world's greatest magician, (to Guy) and you must be...
Guy Smiley: Yes! I am Guy Smiley, everybody's most beloved stunt-show host! Now, (very enthusiastic) are you ready for this big stunt?
The Amazing Mumford: I sure am! I'm sure this has to do with magic.
Guy Smiley: Well, it doesn't have to be magic, Mr. Mumford. You see, because all you have to do is to find three things that you eat for dessert!
The Amazing Mumford: Oh, this could be very easy.
Guy Smiley: It sure is, but you've got 60 seconds on the clock to go out and find them all before the clock reaches zero!
The Amazing Mumford: Well, I don't exactly have to go out to find them.
Guy Smiley: But you have to!
The Amazing Mumford: No, no, no. What I mean is that I'm going to use some magic to make all three things that I eat for dessert appear so I don't have to carry them on to the stage.
Guy Smiley: Well, you don't have to do it that way, but you REALLY have to go out the stage to find them right now! (drum roll) So, on your mark, get set, GO ALREADY!!! (clock starts ticking)
The Amazing Mumford: Wait a minute, Mr. Smiley. Here's the way I can get all three things that I eat for dessert right now! Here I go! A'la peanut-butter-sandwiches! (waves wand, smoke poofs and piles of carrots, brocolli and potatoes appear.)
Guy Smiley: Oh, so sorry, Mr. Mumford, but all of these are vegetables and they're not the right foods you eat for dessert! Now, you've got 51 seconds left!
The Amazing Mumford: I'm sorry, but let me start over again! A'la-peanut-butter-sandwiches! (waves wand, smoke poofs and piles of carrots, brocolli and potatoes change into hamburgers, pizza and chicken.) There! How's that?
Guy Smiley: Are you crazy? These are not the best foods you eat for dessert! You really should go out to find the right ones! Now, you've got 38 seconds!
The Amazing Mumford: Hold on, Mr. Smiley! I think I can handle this straight! A'la-peanut-butter-sandwiches! (waves wand, smoke poofs and hamburgers, pizza and chicken now change into peanut-butter sandwiches, grilled cheese-and-tomato sandwiches and roast beef sandwiches.) Amazing! How am I doing?
Guy Smiley: Well, I don't think your magic acts are doing well, and these foods you've got here are sandwiches, and they're not the right foods you eat for dessert! You really should go out to find the right ones and you've got 25 seconds left!
The Amazing Mumford: Wait! I can handle this!
Guy Smiley: Oh no, you can't! You've got 23 seconds left to go find the right ones!
The Amazing Mumford: Yes I can! A'la-super-yummy-peanut-butter-sandwiches! (waves wand, smoke poofs and the sandwiches change into huge piles of cookies, ice cream cones and cakes appear.) See? That's the way I can find these things I eat for dessert easier!
Guy Smiley: (notices that he sees piles of cookies, ice cream cones and cakes) Oh, now I understand. I found out that you've turned the sandwiches into piles of COOKIES, ICE CREAM AND CAKES!! THAT MEANS YOU WON THE GAME ON TIME!! YOU DID IT, MR. MUMFORD!! (audience cheers very loud)
The Amazing Mumford: Gosh! I think my super-long magic words seem to work well.
Guy Smiley: Yes! And now that you've found the right three items on time, you just won an official prize!
The Amazing Mumford: Wow! A prize! What is it?
Guy Smiley: Well, you just won the Official Guy Smiley Magic Kit to help you invent very special magic tricks!
The Amazing Mumford: Oh, boy! This is my happiest day of magic!
(Cookie Monster enters)
Cookie Monster: Hey! Are all these cookies, ice cream and cakes??!?!?!
The Amazing Mumford: Yes they are!
Cookie Monster: OH, BOY!!! COWABUNGA!!! (begins to eat most of the cookies, the ice-cream cones and cakes)
Guy Smiley: Well, that's all of the time we have for today. So this is Guy Smiley, and we'll see you next time on the next "Beat the Time." (notices that he sees Cookie Monster eating cookies, ice-cream cones and cakes) Hey, Cookie Monster! Aren't you supposed to get off the stage and quit eating a lot of these goodies?
