Oh surely I can share. Basically I had a shell of a body in the usual way of me making a puppet. I don't build a foam head and cover it, I've mostly made my puppets similarly to the glorified sock puppet. That's how I made his head. I did construct a body out of foam (although I wish the gusset I'd used was wider, and I should have put darts into the body to round it off a bit, but I
was in a hurry.)
Once I made the general head bit, I cut out a triangle for the upper beak & slapped it on the upper lip, curving it a bit. I made a smaller triangle and slapped it on the lower lip. I covered it in yellow fleece & was stuck...
Ok
here's the ugly shameful part, but it will give you a better idea of what I did.
Here's a differen't angle.
Like I said, at this point I was stuck . I had thought that all I needed to do was to cover it in fleece, but convinced myself that the answer couldn't be that easy. I e-mailed Noah Ginex (Puppeteer in Chicago) earlier in the week, & he not only let me know what to do, but sent
photos of how to do it as well.
For the 2nd chicken, I did the lining of the mouth first. I think a triceratops could work the same way.
Oh I should also mention that Noah stayed on a live-chat while I was working so I could ask him questions. I think he could go into business doing that.
