XERUS'S VOICE ARTIST FOCUS:

Today's V/A focus will be that popular anime from the 70's, Battle of the Planets. It was originally called Gatchaman in Japan. An action cartoon about five young superheroes called G-Force who pilot cool vehicles and protect the universe from an evil space organization called Spectra. The English dub featured well known actors like Alan Young who played Wilbur on Mr. Ed and famous DJ, Casey Kasem, who had voiced Shaggy on Scooby Doo.

Pretty much the only 1970's Tatsunoko productions cartoon the US ever got. Europe got the others, including Time Bokan and Yattaman. There is an OVA, long out of print, however, that was relased on the US market of Time bokan. The Battle of the Planets team had a brief cameo, as did other Tatsunoko characters (Speed Racer).
