This will probably be welcome news for some folks who hang around here.

A surprising announcement followed the final Broadway performance of Avenue Q. While the Broadway run ended today, the show will reopen off-Broadway October 9, about 5 blocks from the Golden Theatre, its home of the last several years.

That is great news. And it's probably most fitting for Q. I hope it finds a permanent cozy home there. :flirt:

Great succes in Brazil too.

That's great news. And also I didn't know but the show has been being presented in Brazil for several months now with great success. It even won 4 prizes, equivalent to the Tonys there. Two for the the two main performers, one for the director an one for the translation and adaptation.
Unlike the short-lived Mexican version which heavily changed the show, the Brazilian production is very faithful to its New Yorker counterpart. That, a good director, and excellent performers that understand that the puppets were the real stars of the show (judging by what they have said in almost every on-line interview ) have made the Brazilian AQ a hit. By the way, they are also using puppets built by Rick Lyon.
According to the MTI site there are more international productions planed for this and the upcoming year.
