Avenue Q in Swedish

Now the scandinavians will have a chance to see Avenue Q.
Sweden has the honor of adapting the show as the first non-english speaking production of Avenue Q.


Rick Lyon traveled to Sweden to teach the actor how to perform the puppets. He also supervised the creation of the puppets, they where made in Sweden by Effektstudion.

The show will begin in February at Maximteatern in Stockholm.

From now on, when I want people to reada thread I start, I'm going to title it "Avenue Q in Swedish" because who is going to pass up that title?

They encountered the same problem in England, changing him to an old child actor who was hard up and called Gary. However they changed it back to Gary Coleman during the preview period.

Not sure anyone in Sweden knows who Gary Coleman is.
He present himself as a child actor that made millions of dollars without having any talent at all. So basicly here he is just a washed up child actor. I guess they keept the name in, due to respect for the original version.

Rully? Cause Gary Coleman's a washed-up child actor in the US as well. Last we knew, he was a failed security cop at some non-descript mall after failing to be elected governor of the state of California. Some other musclehead actor got that job though.

I know that Count.
My point is that they could have called him anything. In this production the name don't matter. They could have called him John Doe or they could have used your name for that matter.

What's so cool about these is that every puppeteer had had almost the same kind of voice for each character they preform. I think that is talent. Love to hear other countries do Broadway shows. I just love different langues.

They say that modifications were made to the script of the London production of Q to make it more enjoyable for a London audience. Anyone know what he changes are?
