For the first few puppets I've made (which were pretty aweful) I glued pig pong ball halves to the puppets foam head. I would like to make something a little more resilient.

What is the proper method of attaching ping pong ball halves to a foam head covered in fur/fleece? What about whole ping pong balls?

Someone here mentioned filling the half ball with a little piece of foam cut to fill that space. Then you have more area to make contact with the puppets head. Haven't done whole balls myself, but if I had to guess, I would probably drill a small hole into the ball, insert a piece of wooden dowel and glue it in place, and then insert this into the puppets head. Anyone else?

You can also forgo ping pong balls completely and just use half-dome eyes which are very easy to attach to a head.
