I noticed that my last avatar was over the 64x64 limit, but was "approved" anyway. Has there been a change in the limit of avatar pixels?

No, were just no longer allowed to have animated avatars.

BTW, that still doesn't explain how a 100x100 avatar was allowed.

Because too many people complain about them giving headaches.

And maybe it was 100x100 something else besides pixels.

Nope. Even though I deleted the avatar from my computer, I went back to where I got it from, and it's definitely 100x100 pixels.

Yes, I believe that is what happened. Our forum software has made avatar resizing much easier no matter what kind of image you are working with.
