April Fools: Muppets series announced for Disney+ for late 2021, early 2022

Disney have announced today that a series staring The Muppets will be premiering exclusively on Disney + in late 2021 or early 2022 at the latest

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Disney+ president Ricky Strauss has said “The Muppets are still a very big part of the family here at Disney. And we believe this new show will be a way for audiences to connect with those characters again”.

There have been no details regarding plot so far but it has been confirmed that this is not related in anyway to the Josh Gad show “Muppets Live Another Day” which was cancelled in early September

What are your thoughts? Personally I while we don’t know much yet, I’m excited to see a muppet show on Disney plus even if we do have to wait 2 years!
