Any Jerry Nelson Snuffy fans?

Hi!

I saw the thread concerning Telly, and that had me pondering about this.

I know Mr. Nelson stopped doing Snuffy because I believe it hurt his back being in the costume, but he did it for quite a number of years, beginning in 1971 and I think he did it until '79?

Anyway, does anybody prefer his voice over Mr. Robinson's or is it about the same?

Just wonderin',

I love Jerry Nelson's Snuffy. It seemed like he had less energy back then, which was how I always thought he should be. Jerry really had the charachter for Snuffy down pretty good. Ever since Marty started performing him, it seems like the first 5 or 6 years he did a good job but then began to give him too much energy.

Yeah, I think I know what you mean.

Reading your post reminded me of the "I Love the 70s" segment where they basically considered Snuffy a junkie. Hehehe.

Reminds me of that one cartoon where the boy and girl (both hippies) try to get a plant (MJ?) to wake up. Yelling at the plant, getting the dog to bark at it, blowing a trumpet, finally giving it a shower.

"How can I be so duuuuumb....Plants need water, Man!"
