Another Best of The Muppet Show is Coming

It looks like columbia is rerealsing Time Life's the best of the Muppet Show DVD's faster and faster this year with the 8th release in the series coming April 6th.

Part of the reason why these are coming out faster and faster is that Columbia's distribution license expires at the end of the year. They will get out whatever they can before then and anything further will depend on whether that license gets renewed ... if the Disney or Viacom deals come through it will be unlikely. This does bring up the point that if they do halt these releases on losing the license Disney or Viacom could start to release season sets or start a new 'Best Of' series soon after and a lot of people will feel like they would have rather had the new sets.
