You guys are phenonemal at remembering obscure AM's and retreiving the descriptions of! Well, here's the deal...:

On the first Sesame Street record Album (Original Cast recording) there is a song called "Going for a Ride". It starts off with Gordon explaining to Oscar that he cannot sing his song just yet, as they are going for a ride. "Oh, yeah, with who?!" retorts Oscar. "With the anything people!"

One of them sounds like Bert, the other like Big Bird and the third is a gruff Jim Henson standard. My daughter loves this song. And I'm always trying to picture the AM's that are singing it.

Anyone?
Thanks in advance!

Took a bit of searching, but here you go.

Originally posted on 5/22/2004 by matthewxel:
The car driver was a small, magenta AM, the engineer was the same type of AM as the car driver, and the boat captain was deep purple.

The car driver had a black derby on his head and a green shirt on with red and blue stripes. The engineer had an engineer's hat on with white and blue stripes and a turquoise turtle-neck shirt on. And the captain had a navy blue sailor cap on with a little, white steering wheel symbol like of a boat.

Also the car-driver was Frank Oz with a Bert or Fozzie Bear type of voice.
The engineer was Carrol Spinney with a Big Bird voice.
And the boat captain was Jim Henson with a Guy Smiley type of voice

Sweet!

Very impressive! Um, Dantecat, is correct, though it was a Rowlf type voice. And now, okay, was the engineer magenta as well, or was that mentioned anywhere? And the color of the sailor was....?
Thanks again!
