Consider this a little somethin' for Valentine's day.

A Love Between Two Backround Characters

Chapter One- What happened?

These days, our generation only sees The Main Muppets 95% of the time, which is all well and good. There are even main Muppet Couples. However, there is a couple of backround characters that everyone fails to recognize.

Mildred Huxtetter, and George the Janitor.

A couple seperated long ago.

Mildred Huxtetter, a former member of the Muppet panel, was now living alone, as alonely accountant. Away from her one true love, George the Janitor... Or rather, just George.

She quit a few years after George was fired. Why would he get fired, you ask? Well...

FLASHBACK!

George was mopping the floor, which was unusual, when another Muppet type walked in the door.

"Excuse me, but who is your employer here?" The Muppet asked. George tilted his head in the direction of Kermit, the leader, as you all know. The Muppet like character approached Kermit, tapping him on the shoulder, causing him to slowly turn in a half circle.

"Excuse me, my name is Beaureguard, and I was wondering if you're hiring right now." Beaureguard said.

"Uh sure, what can you do?" Kermit asked.

"I clean things."

"Oh, I'm sorry, but we already have our janitor position filled." Kermit sighed, working while talking.

It was good to know that Kermit wasn't willing to replace George so easily... Or so he thought...

"Oh, please? I'm full of energy, and I promise that I'll be cleaning 24/7!" Beau begged.

"24/7 huh...? It IS once in a blue moon that George decides he wants to clean something..." Kermit thought aloud. Then he finally made his decision.

"Alright Beaureguard, you're hired, George, you're fired."

"Yay!" Beau said.

"Y-You mean I have to give up my mop?! I-I couldn't!" George almost cried.

"I'm sorry George, but I've found someone who can do your job better... But... Tell you what, I'll let you keep that mop since I know you're kinda in love with it..." Kermit, making an almost heartless decision, just continued to work, as Beau went to help himself to the other cleaning supplies.

"But..." George whimpered quietly. Since he was right next to the door, he silently made an exit... Little did he know, the love of his life was watching the whole thing... And I'm not talking about his mop either...

FLASHBACK OVER!

Presently, Mildred is moving to Los Angles due to her job moving to another location, and something tells me that she's going to meet a familiar face pretty soon.

Jaz, this is really good so far! It's nice to see a fanfiction about two characters who are very much pushed aside from the rest of the Muppets. Please, continue!

Chapter Two- They meet again

Mildred, after a long day of work, decided she'd pick up some groceries for herself, at the grocery store a few blocks away from her house. The neighborhood was so small, she might as well. Mildred entered the small shopping center on her way back from work, feeling extremely exausted. She didn't bother to grab a cart, for she was only going to grab a few things. As she started to walk inside, she wasn't paying attention, she slipped on a puddle, and bumped into someone, knocking them down, and landing on top of them.

"Hey, watch where you're goin' will ya?" The person, whom was clearly a man, yelled.
"Oh, I'm terribly sorry, I..."
Before Mildred could finish her sentence she was greeted by a clad figure, with slightly hateful eyes, but the mildred, he was none of the less attractive... Because he was quite familiar.
The man recognized her as well...
"Milly?" The man softly whispered.
Mildred was speechless.
"Milly, is that you?" He asked.
"...George..." Mildred whispered softly.
George had dropped his mop, and embraced her in a hug, as Mildred smiled, and even cried a bit.
"Where've ya been all dis time?" George asked.
"Oh George, I... I've been working as an accountant." Mildred sighed contently, at the thought of George.
"Really?"
"Yes. Um, What have you been doing?"
"I work as a janitor here." George said, picking up his dropped mop. "Sorry about that puddle."
Mildred could only blush, and giggle.
"Oh George, It's quite alright... I..."
"GEORGE!!" An unknown voice, or at least unknown to Mildred was heard.
George turned frantically to meet eye to eye with Mr. Jovani, his employer.
"George, ever since I hired you, you seem to only slack off! I haven't seen you do a single thing! You're F-"
"Oh, sir, have I told you how wonderful your sanitation engineer is? He went out of his way just to escort me to the isle with the coffee, and other beverages... You should be so greatful to him!" Mildred lied, adding a giggle to her false tale.
"Er... Very well..." Mr. Jovani sighed. "Keep your job... For now..." Mr. Jovani huffed away, as George and Mildred continued a conversation.
"Thanks Milly." George said, pressing a kiss to her cheek.
Mildred giggled. "Oh... So George... When do you get off work?"
"In about five minutes... Why?"
"Well, we haven't seen eachother in so long... So I thought... We had some catching up to do..." Mildred blushed.
George blushed as well, and simply nodded as Mildred purchased her items and waited in the car for George.

Chapter Three- Catching up

Mildred sat inside her car waiting for the janitor of her dreams to come out of the store. After checking her make-up, breath, and hair in the rear view mirror several times, Mildred finally saw him coming out of the supermarket. George spotted her, and got into the passenger seat.
"Alright George, where do we go?"
George only looked at her. "How 'bout the Ragg Mopp emporium down the street?" He asked.
Mildred sighed. "Same old George..."
George paused a moment to observe her expression. She didn't seem all that interested in mops, but... Eh, what the heck. "Ok, what would you like to do?"
Mildred's face lit up, and then it blushed.
"Well uh, a stroll in the park might be nice... Wouldn't you say so George...?" Mildred beamed.
George shrugged, but then nodded in agreement.
Mildred revved up the engine, and began to drive to the park, in an odd awkward silence, that was completely unexpected by the both of them.

Once they arrived, Mildred coyly got out of the car, and waited for George to do the same.
"So... How have you been?" She asked.
George shurgged. "I've been survivin'."
She smiled. Same old George indeed. The same experience of speaking to him still stood. She just seemed more... Shy. But why?
"My boss threatens t' fire me everyday that I work there."
George sighed.
"Oh my, George, it's a good thing I showed up when I did! It looked like he was going to get rid of you for good!" She clasped her hands together, sincerely worried about his well-being. "Oh yeah. Thanks for dat." George smiled at her, and she could only giggle.
"What have you been up to?" He asked.
"Well once I get home from work, I just sit and watch some TV, and read a few books... I just don't get to have that much fun, I suppose." Mildred sighed.
George gazed upon her for a moment. He remembers her from before. She was a high class lady, who... Often times stepped on his feet while dancing... She still lived up to being high class as it seems, but she still seemed a bit different. "Milly?"
"Yes George?"
"How about I take you to have some real fun?" He asked.
Mildred assumed something like the janitorial museum, or something ridiculous like that. But she was rather fond of the fact that he wanted to do something nice for her.
"Aright George... Lead the way."
George took her arm and lead her to wherever they were headed. I wonder if the car will be alright by itself. :stick_out_tongue:
