    Middle Eastern Puppetry?

Does anyone know what type of puppetry the Middle East is known for, particurally Syria? I mean American is known for all sorts of puppetry, particurally hand puppets, like The Muppets. The Chech Republic is known for their marionettes. So what about the Middle East?

    Your Thoughts: The StoryTeller

I really like The Storyteller. All the performances are great, as well as the effects. More importantly though, the stories are fantastic. I see these episodes more as mini movies than anything else. I can't bring myself to call them episodes, because each one is so well made and they didn't...

    Muppet Babies scene in TMTM

I'm not actually sure where to post this, since this scene isn't technically the TV show nor isn't part of the Muppets we know best. Feel free to move this. Also, sorry if this bas been asked already. In that sequence in TMTM, how were the babies actually operated? I mean I know all the waist...

    The Muppet Man BioPic

well, I just read the screenplay myself. For the most part, I liked it. I know it's only a first draft and not going to be the finished film, but here are my thoughts. It had a lot of good points, but some bad ones as well. Also, some things about it were inaccurate. For example, Jane Henson...

    Jim Henson: The Filmmaker

Everyone knows him as Kermit, Ernie and others, but I think he's underrated as a filmmaker. I think had he still be living, he would be taking a bigger dip into filmmaking and make a more inovations with puppetry and special effects in films, just as Walt Disney did with animation. I think...

Death at a Funeral - Remake Already?

wow...just wow. I can't believe this is really happening. I've heard rumors about it, but I didn't think it would actually happen. I too, wonder what Frank thinks about this? The original film had did well overall, but critics were mixed. Personally, I thought it was one of the best modern...

Other work by Gerry Parkes (Doc)

He was also a priest in Short Circuit 2. I like both Short Circuit movies quite a bit. For me, they're 80's classics. I think the second one is better than the first one. Johnny 5 is awesome! I also find it pretty interesting that in the first movie, he was a hand-rod puppet with cable...

    The Chipmunks...

Those puppets are great! Too bad the producers of the movies didn't consider puppetry to mkae the chipmunks come to life. That would've been pretty intresting to see. btw, your Avatar is great. I love Return to Oz. Great effects in that film.

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Season 40

I thought it had it's good points and bad points. I liked the street scene, it was a great reference to Follow that Bird. Also, Big Bird getting the name wrong was a great reference to Mr. Hooper. Great song at the end of it too. I was also very happy to see Kermit. I was very surprised by...

Cable Control Puppets vs. Radio Control Puppets

You took the words right out my mouth. That's exactly what I was trying say and that EXACTLY how I feel. Thank you! I also don't like radio controlled puppets that might to use one's puppetry skills, because at the same time, I feel the way you do, "they could've just done..." however, while...

Cable Control Puppets vs. Radio Control Puppets

yeah, that's true. I don't know. I guess I'm into old fashioned arts, such as traditional puppetry, traditional animation and things of that nature.
