Does anybody remember this? I don't know the title of the song(s), I can't find it/them on the wiki using any search terms I would use, and there's no way I would know an episode number.
It's not "It's Zydeco", but something actually being sung in, if I'm remembering correctly, Creole French...
:o: A Muppet Show without Fozzie Bear is like Gilbert without Sullivan, ham without cheese, Poca without Hontas!
:): Poca without Hontas?
:o: Yeah?
:): What's a poca?
( & George dance through the backstage)
:): Alright, alright, I get it, that's a polka...
Oh, I was thinking the joke was that he's a frog, not a mammal, and therefore probably wouldn't actually drink milk.
I didn't see this either, but being Muppets, I would half-expect the motor to be a Muppet, as well, and perfectly capable of running as well as any bipedal.
There are only two I can even think of at the moment. The first is "Underground". The other, well...
"Hot, it's so hot I can't think..."
"I could sure use a drink..."
"Does my hair look okay?"
"Piggy!"
Sesame Street Muppet: Rosita, though that Little Richard song with her was kind of...
Muppet Show: Kermit, I guess. He has, for me, some of the best Only Sane Man moments.
:) "Me sane? I hired the others."
Well, some of the song content does have good advice: Telly's caution about soap comes to mind. Also, double meanings: "Come on, everybody sing / make the bathtub ring" (i.e., with sound, and referring to the dirt and stuff that floats to the top and sticks to the walls at the water level). (Not...
Agree with the flower one. Of course, now I know it was just dew (or possibly a recent watering), but... I guess I really thought it was crying. And this was a live-action clip, not a Muppet flower or animation.
And more recently, by which I mean early '90s and thereafter (although I'm not...
Wow, it's been a while for me, too.
I just did a Google site search (because the built-in search software, like on other forums I know, likes to omit words for being too "common" despite the fact that they would, y'know, help), and saw this sketch mentioned in other threads, but not here, and...
In addition to those book-and-record things, I also found:
An old Sesame Street Magazine. The first page is 3 and the last is 30. I can't find a date on it anywhere. However... something I wrote in it indicates early-to-mid-'80s. One page has Olivia and... um... some other guy on it, along with...
Well, "Freitag" means "Friday" in German... maybe they were singing about days of the week? (Sonntag, Montag... some others ... Dienstag, Freitag, Samstag?)
Time for my rundown (oh, no-no-no-don'trunmeoverAHHHH!):
Knew who that was without looking the person up:
Roy Clark
Alice Cooper
Loretta Lynn
Liberace
Raquel Welch
Harry Belafonte
Danny Kaye
Spike Milligan
Sylvester Stallone
Roy Rogers & Dale Evans
Heard of but had to/would have to look the...
Inspired by the fact that I keep misreading "Member" in the title of that other thread about the Electric Mayhem. :D
What's your favorite song as performed by the Electric Mayhem or a member thereof, alone or accompanied by a non-member?
Pending my viewing of seasons after #2, I have to say...
Thog. "I was rereading Balzac the other day, only in translation--" ;)
Actually, although he is up there... hmm... Mary Louise? The girl from the Gogolala Jubilee Jug Band? The baby Koozebanians? Or Mean Mama's Baby?
But between the two characters given, I must cast my vote on the side of Robin.
One more t'ing... I'm glad I can hear, because these subtitles are like... nothing. Did they not get permission to reprint lyrics even for the sake of subtitling?
