    Ventriloquist?

I remember seeing Jim Henson on The Tonight Show with Kermit once. Johnny Carson asked him about the fact that he was clearly not a ventriloquist and that he did not hide that fact when he appeared with Kermit. Carson, by the way, did perform as a vent in his youth...which may explain his...

let's speculate why Nickelodeon edited certain scenes

I'm sure there may have been some cuts due to content. But there's one big reason that accounts for probably 95% of the cuts that networks make...it makes time for more commercials.

Don Music. Too many kids were banging their heads on pianos I guess

    Favorite Ed Sullivan Show Appearancese

I've raised this discussion before here, but I think "The Glutton" just comes across as gross. You can tell from the lack of audience reaction that the live audience might of felt the same way. Ed Sullivan even says "Oh come on" to try and get them to applaud more for Henson and Oz's curtain...

    Getting a Muppet theme park

You know, I haven't yet ventured into the world of Second Life...but I wonder if anyone there has thought of creating some of these places you mention in Second Life? The theater, Chef's kitchen, The Swinetrek, they could all be created in Second Life. Probably a better chance of that...

    Truth commercial: Muppets & smoking

I happened to see the ad last night for the first time. It made me a bit angry. Very misleading. I really had to think hard to come up with where there was smoking in "The Muppet Movie." Let's see them try and come after the Caterpillar in "Alice in Wonderland" next.

    This TMM line bugs me....

I guess the real question is not which place produces more movies...but which produces more stars (Gonzo says he wants to go to Bombay to become a "movie star") So are the stars of Hollywood or the stars of Bollywood more recognized throughout the world? I honestly don't know.

Songs the Electric Mayhem could perform

I agree, some of my favorite Electric Mayhem bits are softer tunes. Floyd's take on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"....Awesome Anyway, with that in mind Floyd singing "Under the Bridge" popped into my head.

    Favorite Ed Sullivan Show Appearancese

Gotta go with "I've grown accustomed to your Face." In general, the appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show were pretty strong. The Big Bird Dance and "The Glutton" are the ones I could really do without.

Bill the Bubble Guy was my favorite!

    Muppets in the crate

I think I'd always figured it was a little bit of both. The wide shots do have a sort of "stiffness" to the characters movements.

    New Muppet comic Strip

This talk of a new Muppet comic strip got me thinking of the original Muppet strip that used to run in newspapers back around the time of the original run of The Muppet Show. Anyone know of a place online you can catch bits of that old strip? It's been ages since I thought of that strip.

Funny Muppet Vision 3-D Story on Podcast

I just started listening to the "Inside the Magic" Podcast. It's a podcast about all things Disney. The current show (#108) has a funny story told by a Disney cast member who once worked at Muppet Vision 3-D. It's about a major malfunction at the attraction. I think you guys will enjoy it...

TV appearances you'd love to have seen

That would've been pretty wild to see the Muppets on Scooby-Doo. What about the Muppets as the guest stars on "The Love Boat" or "Fantasy Island."

    When the Muppets Flopped?

I have to agree with this one to some degree. The whole production based on the seven deadly sins idea seemed like they were trying too hard to prove they could be for adults.

Muppet SNL Land of Gorch Skits coming to DVD

Just FYI: The SNL first season episodes are now available for download individually or as a set on iTunes. If anyone has a guide as to what the Muppet segments are on which episodes, some might be interested if they are looking to download specific segments.

Muppet SNL Land of Gorch Skits coming to DVD

The Oz cameos in Aykroyd films I think have more to do with Oz's friendship with the director of those films John Landis. Landis is one of the king's of putting inside jokes in his movies...several of these involve Oz. Oz appears as the police officer who gives John Belushi back his personal...

    Casting Ideas

I have to admit to not being a huge expert on the world of Harry Potter, but this is a neat thread...I like some of what I've seen. Eh, not crazy about this one. Sure he looks the part, but this is such a major character...looks aren't everything. I'm thinking Rowlf. He's always struck me as...
