Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
My theater was full on Friday night, but I think this movie is suffering for 2 reasons- 1) Almost half the country just experienced the first truly nice weekend after a brutal winter- could be a lot of people chose outside activities vs. going to movies and 2) Unfortunately, luke-warm reviews...
I liked the Muppet portions. I expected Gaga to sing some new songs, but I thought she'd sing more than ONE holiday song. Why even bother to bill it as a "Holiday Spectacular," as others have stated. I think that's what had me the most disappointed. The Muppets were the only ones really doing...
I really enjoyed this. I love Gordon Ramsay, and his interactions with Sweetums were great. Lots of little moments in this made me smile. I hope they have a few more in the works.
Thought I'd share this bit of info because it's highly amusing. Apparently, during the Phillies' recent road trip, pitcher Roy Oswalt borrowed a trainer's iPod. It was tuned to an Elmo pandora station, and the Sesame song "Do De Rubber Duck" came on. They are now playing it in the clubhouse...
There were a few episodes that I found creepy/suspenseful that scared me a bit or put me on edge as a kid. One was definitely the Mudwell episode. The look of the character scared me and then when he got angry and started yelling at Wembley it freaked me out. I did like his song though...
I like that website, but most of the time I like to wait for things to go on sale because I think $20+ is too much money for a cheap-ish t-shirt. I got a nice animal tee from KMart for 9 bucks. It's pink, and says "Save the Animals" with animal at the bottom. :halo:
The audio drops didn't bother me much in and of themselves, but I find it hard to believe that they couldn't have found a transcript to fill in the blanks with closed captioning. It wouldn't have taken THAT much more effort, considering that so many are reporting that there are in tact versions...
Personally, I loved the Muppet Morsels. For me, it added something entertaining to the occasional snoozer  guest performances. I would sign a petition.
I think at the heart of it, Piggy is very insecure. She is always looking for validation (Love from the frog, desire to be in the spotlight) thus she gets easily frustrated and jealous when things don't go her way. Her violent tendencies are a way for her to remain dominant in her mind. She is...
The episode I laughed the hardest at the first time I saw it was definitely Manny's Land of Carpets. I just thought it was hilarious how they thought the radio was talking to them and giving them directions. Manny's Land of Carpets... Bubba's Burger Barn... Sally Spotless Cleaners... love...
I was born a few years after the show premiered, so I never saw them "live" so to speak. We had two official VHS tapes released by HBO home video. One came in a blue box and featured "Beginnings" the other in a pink box that featured "Scared Silly." I watched those two episodes over and over and...
I certainly have reasons to love every Fraggle but Wembley has always been my favorite. I think he has the best songs, the best "personality" and I love the way his eyes go crazy when he's excited! I also think it's really cute when he wembles.
I would very much like to have a hard copy of this but I really don't have anything to trade. I'm in the process of transferring some of my old tapes to DVD but many of them are worn and in poor condition (and most of them are SS specials). I would be willing to send a blank DVD and postage to...
The Secret Life of Toys was a great show. It came almost a decade after The Christmas Toy. I remember watching this on the Disney Channel. I can't believe there were only 13 episodes! What a great show. I would always try to catch my toys coming to life after this program. I even had an old...
I wish I had Kermit and Fozzie! I only had Piggy... and I was trying to remember if her legs kicked as well. I think they might've. Ah the hours of fun I had making her swim from one side of the tub to the other!
Hey all. When I was little, my favorite bathtub/pool toy was a Miss Piggy wind up. I believe she had on a purple bathing suit and gloves and maybe even a swim cap. When you wound her up, her arms moved and she could actually swim across the water. I was just curious if anyone else had this...
Great thread title. Definitely made me laugh out loud! These responses make me think I need to start watching my favorite shows/movies in foreign languages. My simpsons DVD got stuck on french once. That was interesting.
