I guess an official release is probably irrelevant anymore. And as far as any licensing goes, wouldn't that be more of a factor if revenue is being generated by commercially releasing or syndicating the episode? I doubt the Workshop was ready to do that, even for HBO, given how much cleansing...
For what my opinion could potentially be worth:
Once 0847 was revealed to all the world, (just me) I felt like a sacred taboo was broken, and I don't mean that in a good or bad way. Like everyone else, my first adult exposure to it was the YT uploads, so I can't (in good conscience) denounce...
The best way I can describe it is like a subtle ringing tone, similar to a "tinnitus" effect; it's not overbearing, but just enough to distort the upper frequencies of the audio.
So I've been noticing, as of Season 5, that lately these AAPB's have a slight residual audio artifact that isn't present in the coinciding episodes from other sources. I don't know if this is an attempt to scramble or watermark the audio, but I'm wondering if anyone else has picked up on this...
I guess I must not have the right forums on my "watched" list. How'd y'all find this out, and what link do I need (if it still works)?
See: I'm not sure I'd be cool with totally open access, but like I've said before, a credential system (like a library membership) should be good enough for...
It's about uploading episodes equally across the entirety of the series, not just a pick-and-choose situation. But this is all a moot point now, I think. Part of why I shared that mini-rant over here was for contextual clarity, since this portion of the thread was detached from the original...
I began to lose interest in the whole thing when they resumed adding episodes after an almost year-long wait, and at that, they were from Season 19 at the earliest. It's nice to have the unlimited convenience of watching the handful of episodes (edited and cleansed) as many times as I like, but...
I guess the HBO cancellation portion of this thread was eventually migrated here:

"Twould be nice if there was some kind of notification for that.
Well … can't say I'm really surprised, to the least possible degree. Without a consistent timeline for new entries to be added to the platform, it doesn't even make sense for HBO (merger with WB notwithstanding) to expect subscription revenue based on just our relatively small viewership. Since...
My theory still is that they will continue premiering the current season's half-hour shows, occasionally throwing extras for the younger moms and dads, and keep whatever classic eps (edited and cleansed) that are already there. 2025 will reveal more about the future of the Workshop.
