Yup, Cookie Monster came with a "gap" in the back of his black felt mouth. If it's all there it's almost like a black yube going down his throat - not just a split mouth. The original box came with cookies printed on the back for cookie monster to eat.
Hi Guys,
I'm parting with a few harder to find pyuppets and wanted to share the eBay links. I currently have an Educational Toys / Topper Oscar the Grouch in his original open front box, and the 1978 Palitoy "Miss Piggy" and "Zoot" finger puppets up for sale. I hope they'll find good homes!

Hi Koen -
The Vicmas are a personal favorite and I'm fascinated with your two puppets! Alas i have no idea what characters they are. That Blue aardvark? Some people have called it a mouse - has shown up in a couple SESAME collections and so far I don't think anyone has been able to ID him - the...

Well, well ... the questions are mostly answered! VONCOUNT, I much appreciate your leading me to that "comment" on Mikey's site explaining my COUNT puppet. So here's what happened and what is going on with my COUNT's slightly different paint job:
I bought him on eBay in December. He arrived and...
Thanks very much for the welcome!! I've also begun a blog about my collection (primarily focusing on 1970s SESAME stuff.

I have a very neat Grover puppet that's very similar in style and size to the Topper/Educational Toys/Child Guidance Grover puppet. His head does not have the plastic liner the Topper version had, but the upper half of Grover's head is stuffed and sewn to keep his head "round" and "full". He...
Thanks, Minstrel Murray! Here's the corrected link. Apologies for the typo.

I got side tracked with a cold and haven't blogged this week but will begin posting again this weekend. I don't know that I'd call myself an expert - but I have been collecting...
Greetings - I'm relatively new on the forum. I've been chatting with several fellow collector's for the last few years and have finally broken down and started a blog celebrating the earliest SESAME collectibles. For the most part I'm looking at pre-1980 stuff: the 1970s puppets, cool foreign...
Animal Attack and I have been exchanging photos and, thanks to his archive of photos of various Count puppets sold over the years, we've found other examples of the rubber-head Count with the "ribbed" shirt instead of the much more common t-shirt fabric style shirt. So we now know there are...
Yes, just to be clear the puppet above is a photo of MY puppet posted a year or so ago by the seller I bought it from. She sent me the photo above after the auction ended.
I didn't originally understand what you meant about the box sold on eBay. You're saying a box showing a rubber head count...
There was a wrong link up above where someone posted a photo of a Canadian box with a cloth puppet. Here is the image I meant that seems to show a MIB boxed rubber Count without a tongue - which leads me to believe not all Counts have tongues. Everything about this Count looks very new and...
Interesting - if this Count is all vintage he's very odd - especially the Roosevelt Franklin hands. The cape does lend credence to his being original, but why such a totally different variant? Gold stuff, etc. I wonder if the seller would tell us what year he got it new. I'd be curious if it...
Hi AnimalAttack - thanks for the reply and link to the newly listed (and quite weird) Count puppet on eBay just now. I'm amazed that it took years for me to see ANY Count puppet on eBay and this year I've seen 5 or 6!
I've done some detective work, asking questions of the seller of my...
Hi - I'm new to the forum. I recently upgraded my rubber-headed Canadian Count puppet. The one I've had is a bit worn out, he has no tongue or cape, he has holes in his shirt, and his ribbon-sash is loose. My newly acquired Count is in really superb condition and he has both tongue, and a...

Thanks, Dwayne! I've slowly been building my collection of vintage SESAME stuff. The sort of things I really need now are generally quite hard to come by: Cookie Monster and Big Bird in the original open front boxes, the French Mordicus puppet, Mexican Abelardo and Paco...
Greetings! I am a first generation SESAME STREET kid who especially loved the muppet segments. In Christmas 1971 I got all of the original release Educational Toys puppets. It was the best Christmas ever! All my original toys were destroyed in a fire when I was a teenager and it is only in the...
