Some of the Kermit songs, like 'Rainbow Connection' and 'This Frog,' make me 'tear up,' but so do some of the instrumental pieces used in various Sesame Street films, most notably the Joe Raposo score in the 'Bald Eagle' film series, where kids narrate the voyage of a bald eagle over roads...
I just updated the link to the compilation of 'beginning/end' clips on YouTube. I'm just wondering if anybody can get a positive ID on the barber, the boy getting the haircut, the man eating the hot dog, the man painting the picture, the woman making the sandwich, and the child accompanying...
Here's the list as it appeared about 15 years or so ago, before people had a lot of access to earlier episodes of the show:
1. 'Fred, get me a 20' - a man (Joe Raposo) gets sent on a mission to find a 20, finds the numbers 11 through 19 along the way, and runs into a gorilla (and the 20) at...
As for me, I would think that most people who have 'interacted' with me for a while online would agree that it would be one (or several) of the segments included on that 'wish list' I had (on Muppet Fandom, etc.) before they finally made it to the Web in mid-2022 or early 2023.
I see what you mean. A lot of musicians, especially those who 'stay around' for a while, can (and at certain times, do) change their 'style' or 'genre,' not to mention the means and/or musical instruments used in producing and preforming their work.
OK, I understand. The 'beginning-end' segments last appeared in Season 11 (1980), while the gymnast segments had their 'last hurrah' in Season 14 (1983).
Actually, I'm trying to figure out where these segments were filmed, especially the gymnast segments, since they were all likely filmed in the same location, yet the background is so dark and nondescript. I do know, however, that the gymnast's name is Deborah Eich Romer. Do you remember the...
Would the eight gymnast segments from 1973 and the five 'beginning-end' film segments from 1972 also fall into the category at which your inquiry is apparently aimed? Just wondering.
I just saw the video for that show you mentioned. Yes, it's 'that' Keith Mansfield. His works also appear in several NFL Films documentaries, to name a few.
If you want to find out the way the gymnast segments were found, go to the following site and the story begins at the 26:01 mark. The story sounds spooky, to say the least.
Hi, YellowYahooey:
You are correct about Season 14 being the final one for the gymnast (with 'close to-away from' in Episode 1824 being her final appearance) as well as the fact that 'on-off' was the least shown segment out of the eight.
In terms of the music, though, none of it is by Joe...
Hi, YellowYahooey:
Deborah (maiden name Eich) graduated from Seaford High School in Seaford NY (Queens area) in 1972. She was on the gymnastics team, and apparently did well. She then attended Nassau Community College and participated in gymnastics there likewise. Under her married name...
