I couldn't find the thread where we discussed these figures in detail...however I just wanted to let people know that the set has been repackaged and is now available in Disney Stores.
Came home to find this on my doorstep today:
Disney Store Pre order with lithographs. I had gotten this one for my niece and nephew (got myself the Wocka Wocka pack) but I may not be able to resist cracking it open and watching some of the special features. :D
I've been a member for about 3 years now. I've never been charged for anything I didn't want to be charged for. You just have to make sure you log onto the site once a month and tell them whether you want your "featured" movie. It's usually whatever big release Disney has going on at the time...
I get them every month. It's the packet where they ask you to choose whether you want the monthly title or not. Even though I do everything online I was unable to go "paperless" so I just get it delivered every month. There's usually some sort of sticker in there (for Christmas it was Gift Tags).
Just received these in this months Disney Movie Club mailer. Each sticker is about the size of a traditional US Postage stamp.
So if you know anyone who belongs to the DMC be sure you snag them before they accidentally toss them :D
I couldn't resist. Piggystache.
Kermit is also on the back side of both my boxes, something I didn't notice until now. So I've got a Statler and Waldorf and Beaker; both with Kermit on the opposite side. So if you only see a bunch of Kermits flip em around.
That Chef has been sold in the parks in the US for years now. Especially around the time of the Epcot food and wine festival. So he is over here. He may be considered a park exclusive which is why we haven't seen him in stores yet.
That's only speculation though.
I'm fine with the price point. They're 10$ a figure (if bought at the parks). And while I would have prefered them to be in single packs I can totally see why Disney doubled up with these. No sense having a shelf full of Piggies and Links because everyone just bought up the main characters...
About $105.00 or $13.00 a figure (it makes it easier to justify things when I break it down individually). I say about because they were technically a gift and the bill was hidden from me :D
Wocka wocka! :o
Well I broke down and opened up the figures. For the most part they're pretty sturdy however there are a couple of loose joints and them. Han/Link's head flops about freely, I popped it off and stuck a piece of blue tack on the nobbin. Problem solved.
Threepio/Beaker's leg joints are also very...
My set came in today and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. I haven't opened the figures yet but just the packaging alone seems to be a better quality then the usual Disney figures. The figure look really good in person too. This is the first time I've ever been torn over keeping a figure in...
Haven't pre-ordered yet. I'm waiting to see if they'll be a special collectors edition (with a bust or some such, but I doubt it) or if Disney will be doing a litho (they've done them for the Lion King and Tangled in the past year so one can hope!).
You can call Disney mail order once they are available in the parks. 877-560-6477 (toll Free) or 407-363-6200.
The shipping for the set will probably run about 14$ but it still comes in cheaper then buying off eBay.
I am a member (Bellygrub there too) but haven't done much with the site. I'll have to update my collection one of these day! We've been collecting pins for about four years now so have amassed quite a few.
Your collection may be humble but you've got some choice pins Count!
