We are sad to announce the sudden death of

Attended a talk called Muppets, Puppets and Robots last night by Nigel Plaskitt at the Puppet Centre, Battersea. All very interesting, and he had a few characters with him, John Major from Spitting Image, the ITV Digital Monkey, one of the Hoobs, Louise Gold's Baby, Hartley Hare from Pipkins and...
Movin' Right Along to be played on the Elaine Paige show on Radio 2 shortly (the most listened to of UK radio stations). Good that it's having a mainstream playing.
Some of you will know I am currently engaged with writing a book on puppet manipulation based on a series of interviews with leading puppeteers. later this week I am meeting with Nigel Plaskitt (Labyrinth, Spitting Image, Muppets Christmas Carol, Muppet Treasure Island, Secret Life of Toys...

Frank is to appear tomorrow (Sunday) night, 9.00pm, Channel 5 in a programme called Greatest Ever Comedy Movies. Apparently this is new footage. I don't know if this is to talk about his directorial work or The Muppets, though I expect the latter.

Anyone spot What a doddle puppets on Let Me Entertain You this afternoon (BBC2)?
They had muppet style puppets operated hands in front of face in a large, three person booth. The Elton John puppet looked good, but the puppetry was a little dodgy; the Bruce Forsyth puppet had especially bad...
A new Kermit interview, and some older footage as well, to be shown on BBC2 this Saturday night in The Story of Light Entertainment, 9.15 - 10.45pm.

Appologies if I'm duplicating info already on the forum but here goes...
The Henson Puppet Improv is coming to the UK, Edinburgh to be precise, as part of the Fringe Festival. Performing from the 4th to the 20th of August at the Assembly Rooms, with two shows a day, one aimed at children and...
I thought people may be interested to see the wide range of Henson (and other puppet productions) photos on my friends' two recently updated websites:
http://www.geofffelix.com - pictures found under Film and TV.
And http://www.richardcoombs.co.uk/ - endless (seemingly) photos, split into...
Rather unsavoury news about Chris Langham has been appearing of late. Sadly in this case the rumours have proved true.
"Award-winning comedy actor Chris Langham has been charged with 15 counts of making indecent images of children, Kent police said on Thursday."
Full details can be found...
For those of you in and around London, this coming Sunday (Sunday 14th May) sees the 31st Annual Covent Garden May Fayre, Punch and Puppet Festival, which takes place in the garden of St Paul's Church, Bedford Street, Covent Garden.
It is a celebration of puppetry, with a parade, church...
Interesting articles about the show can be found in today's (6th May 06) Telegraph magazine, and this month's edition of Theatregoer (available free from the foyers of most West End theatres).
Look out for the mention of Nigel Plaskitt...'the puppeteer supremo'!
Cheers,
James
Just to say there are two original Spitting Image puppets on display at the moment (till 3rd September '06) at the Museum of London, as well as some of the original designs for the programme.
Also on display are the museum's full set of Punch and Judy figures (which haven't been displayed...
A good performance by Louise Gold this evening as the Queen from Spitting Image, though vocally sounding much closer to Louise's own voice than she has in the past. Though interesting to see that Fluck and Law weren't involved in the programme.
